Meet Our Pastry Chef

Ana Sáenz

I was born in Costa Rica, and my husband and I relocated to the United States in 2015. My passion for baking developed when I was a little girl, spending a lot of time in the kitchen with my grandmother. We baked cakes, bread, cookies, desserts, and every new recipe that her friends shared with her. I vividly remember the dedication and preparation she put into every party, spending countless hours in the kitchen to ensure everything was perfect. That kind of passion stuck with me over the years.

Upon moving to the US, while trying to fit in and find how to occupy my time, I began replicating all my grandmother's recipes. She had about two books filled with recipes, notes, and cutouts from magazines that she had tried. I started practicing and making my own adjustments to the recipes, cooking, and baking for friends until I eventually decided to attend Culinary School at Brightwater in Bentonville, AR. The same excitement that kept me in the kitchen when I was young encouraged me to finally open my own business.

We aim to infuse authentic flavors from Costa Rica and Latin America, sourcing ingredients from local vendors, all while fostering awareness of Latin culture within our community. One of the primary reasons I am passionate about my work is the opportunity to share my culture, traditions, and my tita’s love for baking in each of my recipes.

Thank you for allowing us to bring a taste of Costa Rica into your homes.
